Hey boys and girls of all sizes and ages!
its your gracious host Luke here fresh off a delayed flight back from Portland, the venue of stop 3 of the AST Dew Tour. For those of you who may not know, I have been hired on as an announcer to the tour; not for my knowledge of skate, BMX, or FMX, but more as a personality on camera and out in the crowd to interview athletes and give away loads of merchandise. The gig is pimp and wildly entertaining.
I must say, i have always rather enjoyed watching BMX whenever the opportunity has presented itself, and in most situations it has been from my couch while parousing ESPN 2 or Fuel. I enjoy the fact that despite their obvious and numerous differences, there exists some faint similarities between BMX and Skiing, i.e. the cork sevens from Daniel Dhers, flairs, double backs, 1080's, right and leftside spinning, and not to mention, the fact that these athletes are doing all this on a freaking bike. huh?
basically, I have become a pretty intense fan, especially after seeing Luke Parslow's opening run in BMX dirt finals in P-town. It was i-n-s-a-n-i-t-y, the whole scene is. I mean, standing in the pits watching Dirt amongst a large handful of absolutely bombshell tatooed blondes, gazing in amazement at their warriors on course pillaging rock hard booters in a spectacle of heavy metal music and roaring fans is bad to the bone, i dont care who you are.
More to come.
